Great to hear that the park is getting some life breathed into it. I lived in Burncleuch Avenue and the park was my playground. My wife and me enjoy a walk around it, even when I tell her the story about the girls face in the rock

Hi Vincent thanks for your comment, keep looking at the web site for updates and events in the park

I live at the concealed entrance to the park at Cairns Road. I'm delighted to hear that there is to be investment in the park, particularly the bandstand area. I do however have concerns that all this money will be spent and without proper surveillance ie CCTV cameras at the entrances to the park, we may be better just putting the money in one of the wheelie bins that the thugs keep stealing and burning down there.

I note your concerns and I will raise the matter at our committee meeting on 10th June

Great site - must involve a lot of work, so thanks. Any chance of more precise location for the carved girl's face? I would love to visit it.

Hi Eddie glad you like the site it is always good to get feedback - the girls face is on the path from the memorial going towards the Whitlawburn gate it sits in a curved wall - unfortunately is in a bit of a state we would love to have it removed and renovated - at our memories event last year there was a woman who said that she had a photograph of it taken many years ago - we are hoping that she comes back this year as it would give us something to work on and try and get a grant to have it restored - come along to the memories event next Wed 27th in the institute 4pm - 8pm there will be many artefacts of C/lang and exhibits to view

I wondered if people would be interested in meeting one evening a week, at 6 or 6.30pm to walk around the park? I would be keen to do this and if it could be advertised then I'm sure others would join in who would not go around on their own.

We have been looking at the possibility of starting up a walking group and various other groups and will have a questionaire about this at our Memories Event on 27th May in the Cambuslang Institute 4pm - 8pm

Just a short note to say how happy I am to be now walking round
Cambuslang park on Sat, instead of travelling up to the park at EK
My friend Mareen and I started walking 3 yrs ago, to try and get
fit, we did start once at Cambuslang park but found it a bit too quiet and overgrown at the woodland part esp. but now thanks to all the great work you all are doing( Anne Hopkins Simpson has wonderful dreams for communities and she makes these dreams come true with special help from wonderful people like the members of friends from Cambuslang Park)
So I now try and keep fit walking around Cambuslang Park.
Thankyou
