I'm fascinated to find your website as my great-grandfather, Daniel George Cormack was Convenor of the original Park Committee and formally opened the Park in 1913. I have several souvenir items, photos, press cuttings from the time which may be of interest. (I don't want to part with them but if somone contacts me would be happy to provide copies or something.) So pleased to hear that the Park is still going strong - it looks lovely! Please contact me if this is of any interest.

Dear Jackie - glad you found our web site - we have a commemorative booklet of the opening of the park which was donated to us - there is a photograph of your great grandfather on page 31 and of his wife on page 32 - I will scan these in and send to you on a separate e-mail then I can perhaps get details how we can obtain a record of your souvenirs

Hi, I can't see the minutes of the meeting on 10th June on the website and was wondering if my point about CCTV was raised. If this is not possible, would it be possible for the gates to be closed at night, just as was done when the park previously had Park Rangers? Will the concealed entrances to the park remain open despite the dangers to the public, considering that they are unlit, without any means of surveillance and without any pavement? Currently, the gate to the park near Kirkhill Church leads straight to the road. I am concerned that it is only a matter of time before a fatal incident occurs.
Comment:
Unfortunately at the last meeting we had a very busy agenda - the Institute where we hold our meetings closes at 9pm and there were a few items we had to put back to the next meeting which is on Wed 8th July at 7pm. Your comments will hopefully be read out then. Regarding the closing of the gates and CCTV you would need to contact South Lanarkshire Land Services about this matter and your concerns of the dangers. The minutes of the meeting for the 10th June can not be published until they have been approved at the following meeting which will be held on Wed 8th July after which I will put them on the web site.
UPDATE - Your comments were read out at the meeting held on 8th July and while the members appreciate your concerns they agree that you would need to contact SLCLS. Our function as a group is to promote the park which we do by holding various events throughout the year. The minutes of the meeting held on 10th April have now been added to the news page/meetings.

Hi, I am interested to hear that a walking group may possibly be set up - I and other people I know would definitely be interested in this - especially if the walks could be tailored on occasion to those with more limited mobility.
Comment:
Hi if you get in touch again and let me know how many people you have that are interested and whether you would like to walk during the day or in the evening - please put your e-mail address in so that I can contact you - it will not be published on the site
