I recently started cycling through the park as part of a fitness programme. Part of the route was through the band stand. I have had to give this up due to 3 things. The amount of broken glass in the area and the amount of neds hanging around drinking. Usually as I cycled past them I find myself being either verbally abused or having something thrown at me.

I have noticed in recent months Police on Mountain Bikes in the Halfway and Cambuslang area. Could they include a ride through the park as part of their route?

The Park is too nice an area to become a haunt of neds after a certain time of day.

Sorry you have had this experience sadly we have no control over this. It is of course something we would like to see eradicated. The police do go into the park on their bikes but unfortunately can not be there all of the time

Hi, I recently walked round the park for the first time in years. It brought back loads of happy memories of my childhood. It is sad to see the tennis and putting now gone as well as the pavillion.
A sign of the times though as young people these days have too many other distractions. Still as i said it envoked many happy thoughts.

Our aim is to get people back into the park so that they will have the same happy memories

I was wondering if there has been any update from Land Services re the condition of the kids play park? It would appear that slowly but surely, it is getting more and more run down and now that the better weather is hopefully upon us, there could be better items in the park for the kids to play on.

have so many fond memories of the pubie park. Would love to see a lot of facilities being brought back! Spent a lot of my childhood in the park playing putting of using tennis courts or walking down burn in barefoot (not possible nowdays) would love my kids to enjoy park as much as i did in my younger years !

Hi Lorna thanks for the comments. We should know by the end of September if we have been successful with the second stage of the Heritage Lottery bid and you will then see things happening in the park. Also see the news page re the play area.
